Title:A categorical perspective on the Atiyah-Segal completion theorem in KK-theory
Seminar:Noncommutative Geometry Seminar
Speaker:Yosuke Kubota, University of Tokyo
The relative homological algebra developed by Meyer and Nest gives a systematic way to find semi-orthogonal decompositions of triangulated categories. In this talk, we apply it for the kernels of the restriction functors in compact Lie group equivariant Kasparov categories and relate it with the Atiyah-Segal completion theorem. As an application, we discuss permanence property of the Baum-Connes conjecture under extensions of groups. This is a joint work with Yuki Arano in the University of Tokyo.
