Title:Fractal curvatures and dynamical systems
Seminar:Center for Dynamics and Geometry Colloquium
Speaker:Martina Zaehle, Friedrich Schiller University, Jena, Germany
Abstract:
In the first part of the talk we give an introduction to local and global curvature notions for some classes of fractals via approximation by Euclidean neighborhoods. The Minkowski content is included. Then we briefly explain how the corresponding problem of convergence of the rescaled Lipschitz-Killing curvatures of parallel sets can be treated with the help of embedded dynamical systems and renewal theory. We also discuss the interplay between both approaches.
