Title:Mackey-Higson analogy as deformation of D-modules
Seminar:Noncommutative Geometry Seminar
Speaker:Shilin Yu, University of Pennsylvania
Abstract:
Inspired by observations of Mackey and Connes-Kasparov, Higson suggested there is a bijection between the tempered dual of a semisimple Lie group and the unitary dual of its Cartan motion group. He showed that this is true even at the level of admissible duals when the group is complex semisimple. Recently Afgoustidis has built such a bijection based on the work of Knapp-Zuckerman and Vogan. I propose to understand this bijection for each individual representation via deformation of D-modules over the flag variety, hence giving an algebro-geometric interpretation of the Mackey-Higson phenomenon.
